How to choose your medical ID necklace length

The chart above illustrates where different necklace lengths may sit. Use it as a starting point, then compare the measurement with your own fit. The same chain length can sit differently depending on your neck size, the pendant, and the clothing you wear.

1. Measure a necklace you already like. Lay the chain flat and measure its length from end to end, including the clasp.
2. If you do not have a necklace to compare, use a piece of string to try the position you prefer. Measure the string after removing it.
3. Check the lengths offered on the individual product page. Consider the pendant dimensions as well as the chain measurement.
4. Try the position with your usual neckline so you can decide whether you prefer the pendant to sit higher or lower.
